Carly Fiorina has an embellishing-the-truth problem. Her Planned Parenthood claims were extremely off the mark. Also, she has repeatedly lied about HP dealings with Iran where the SEC investigated and found "no one in management knew about it." She also has agreed that torture was a good idea because "it worked."
Well what she claims to have seen were not on any video. The SEC actually didn't do an actual investigation. Also, torture doesn't work. There was a 500-page study done by the Senate Intelligence Committee report done to refute that.
But here we are. She's proved she can hang with the best of them on the stage. She knows what the people want to hear. She knows when to say it. She's stood her ground and looked very good while doing it. She is a great candidate. With all of that said, I don't trust her.
The Left's Opinion
Carly Fiorina is one of this year's insurgent candidates. The former Hewlett-Packard CEO, was named the most powerful woman in American business by Forbes in 1999. She is fearless, smart and willing to go on the offensive. She is the only candidate (and person for that matter) to have taken on Trump this election cycle and not nosedived in the Polls. Rick Perry tried, done. Scott Walker tried, done. She however, realized the opposite effect. Her few brief salvos with Trump have helped raise her profile and given her some name recognition.
She held her own on the debate stage but to me sounded scripted. She fearlessly confronts Hillary Clinton and tough issues like Planned Parenthood with tact and assertiveness. This has led to her rise to 5th place in the Real Clear Politics average. There are however, many unanswered questions about her record as a CEO. As she gains national traction, the vetting will get tougher, the race looks different and is much harder from the top than the bottom. It will be interesting to see what comes out about her and if she can weather the inevitable media scrutiny.
