We don't represent a party. We represent each other.
While parties disagree on a lot of political idealogies, there are subjects which, we believe, are argued for arguments sake. We feel that those things, if laid out in a logical fashion, can be agreed upon in the spirit of compromise. Sure every little aspect of the subject may not be agreed upon in practice. But there are agreements that can be built upon. When we came together to build this site, we knew it was important to take what we could agree upon and build upon that. Arguing just doesn't get us where we want to go. The items below are a few of those agreements...a few that we hope will grow into many.

Voter ID Laws
Firstly, this isn't hard. Get an ID. At the very least, we have elections every two years. There should be some mechanism in place for a person to prove who they are. We are not talking about fingerprints, $100 passports, or anything else that costs money. Go the the DMV and get an ID or have the Government issue Voter IDs.
"Surely, if we can land a spaceship on Mars, we can certainly put a voter ID card in the hand of every eligible voter." -Andrew Young (D)

Balancing the Budget
We've all seen the stories of the lavish spending by politicians, whether it be for their district or themselves. However, deficits DO matter. When our elected leaders fail to make the hard decisions when it comes to what gets cut from the budget, we have to ask, what exactly were they elected for? I don't have time to go through the entire budget line by line. But they were elected for a position to make the hard choices. The bottom line is that, unfortunately, some programs need to get cut to balance the budget.
"Reasonable liberals and conservatives can disagree on what role the federal government should play yet still believe that government should resume paying its way."
-Joe Scarborough and Jeffrey Sachs

The NSA and
Bulk Collection
We like our privacy. We like that we can shut our windows, lock our doors, password protect our computers, PIN-lock our cell phones, and generally live our life without worrying about big brother. The NSA should not have a database that holds all of our phone calls, text messages, and emails. This is a country that prides itself in the freedom of its citizens.
"He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither." -Ben Franklin

Raising Infrastructure Spending
We like roads. We like airports. We like bridges. We like fiber optics. We like cell phone towers. We like tall buildings. But most importantly, we like that they tend to not collapse.
Our infrastructure needs a drastic boost. For instance, if we were to cut some assistance programs in the budget while conversely providing real jobs in the infrastructure industries, would we not be providing a much better outcome for some people who rely on assistance?
Politicians from Rand Paul to Bernie Sanders agree that we need to invest in our infrastructure. Maybe we should listen to these two gentlemen. After all, they hardly ever agree on anything.
