Middle Ground America's Opinion on Donald Trump

Donald Trump has already gone further in the race than I initially thought he would. He isn't taking money from special interests. He has no problem facing his critics. He has no problem saying whatever is on his mind. He has the best facial expressions. He is exactly the opposite of what you'd expect from a Presidential Candidate.

Yet here we are. And I'll have to hand it to him. It's working. He's become a legitimate candidate who is striking the nerve of a very large portion of the population. He hasn't really come out with any specifics beside "We're going to bring in the best people."

I honestly don't know that if he were to win the nomination how he would fare on the stage with the other party. But I think we're past the point where we should count him out.

The Left's Opinion

What is there to be said about 'the Donald' that hasn't already been said. The man seems to have his own gravitational pull, as he is surrounded constantly by the microphones of those in the media wanting to talk to him. For a man who is self funding his own campaign thanks to his personal wealth, he has hardly spent more than a few bucks. The amount of free media the man gets is staggering. It also has the effect of sucking all the air out of the room for the other candidates. When he has one, more money than any other candidate and two, more airtime than any other candidate, you have two very strong advantages.

Trump perplexes me. On one hand, I love the fight, the winning attitude and the can do approach to getting things done. However, platitudes and taglines only take you so far. To be president, you must be charismatic but also have a vision with enough specificity to carry water. We shall see as the process rolls on how specific he is willing to get and the voters will decide if they buy it.
