Jeb Bush is probably the most anti-internet candidate in the race. He is anti-encryption. He is anti-net neutrality. He is pro-data collection. He just isn't a man I could vote for based on these three stances.
I get it. He has the money. He has the principles. He has everything he could need to win. But he has the one thing that will prevent it; his name. While it probably is the worst reason to be turned off by a candidate, it says a lot about the current election climate.
It's not about being "electable." It's about being genuine and being strong in your principles. Jeb Bush is strong in his principles. But he just doesn't seem genuine and his name will prevent him from going all the way.
The Left's Opinion
The biggest thing Jeb has going for him is his name. The worst thing Jeb has going for him is his name. The establishment faction within the Republican party loves the Bushes. They have the political network, the clout and the money to 'plug and play' any candidate they want and be a formidable force. The conservative knock on them is that they epitomize everything that is wrong with Washington. However, there is something to be said for consistency.
Jeb's personal credentials include being a successful two term governor of Florida. He is also fluent in Spanish which is a unique quality of four GOP candidates this cycle. Never before has the GOP had so many contenders that are bilingual. Will Jeb's name recognition carry him the crowded Republican field? As for this Republican primary voter, I'm over the Bush's.
