Hey Conservatives, Don't Be Mad At Obama, Be Mad At Yourselves

Millions of Conservatives stayed home in 2012. They claimed they were 'sticking it' to the 'establishment RINOs.’ But all they did was stick it to America. That's right I said it. Conservatives who stayed home in 2012 are complicit in what they deem to be the destruction of this country. I agree that the policies put in place by the aggressive progressive that occupies the White House have been damaging to our country. That is not the argument here. The argument is, what are you doing about it? I interact with these conservatives everyday. They’re upset about the policies, angry about his executive orders, blah blah blah. My response is simple; Okay, what do we do about it? “What can we do about it?” they say, with a ho hum sigh and a shoulder shrug that reeks of defeat and self pity. What can we do about it? We can vote!! That's what! I don't want to hear any nonsense about your vote not meaning anything. That is dangerous thinking. When we start to think that and say that, it festers and spreads like a disease. Then it grows into a thought process, then a course of action. Next thing you know you have an estimated 4-6 million people that think that and stay home. They throw out platitudes about sticking it to the establishment and 'telling the DC elites how they feel'. Do you think they give a damn about you staying home? Do you think they care for two seconds that Joe voter from Nowhere, Pennsylvania stayed home? No, they don’t. Do you know what the end result was? The epitome of a self fulfilling prophecy. You don't vote because you are upset about the way a person does something (be they republican or democrat); and because of that, you get the same person you didn't want. Get off your ass and vote or you will get the America you deserve. Thanks for playing have a nice day. You will have accomplished nothing other than giving yourself one more thing to whine about. Now that might sound harsh, but if we are to truly affect change we have to realize where we are. It is time for some tough love. I more than understand the frustrations of my fellow conservatives. I agree mostly with the typical complaints. I'm down for the struggle... believe me. However, I refuse to sit on my ass and let the country I love be sent to hell because I got my feelings hurt. What are we going to do, sit around and cry about it? No. When you lose, you get up, slap yourself in the face and get back in the game. So you ask, what can we do? We can talk to people. Stop bitching and start pitching. Pitch the beauty that is America. Tell folks about the great things this country has done and COULD do. Yes, America has made mistakes but does that negate the good we have done? Does that mean we are disqualified from the game? No. It does not, nor should it. I often find it ironic that conservatives hold up Ronald Reagan as the end all be all of conservatism. Well here's another news flash for you. THAT WAS 35 YEARS AGO. I love him as much as the next guy, but instead of worshiping the man, we should espouse what he stood for. An America that is a shining city on a hill. An America that stood up to the Soviet Union and stood against tyranny in the world. An America that believes that if we work together, we can accomplish incredible feats. When I look at my fellow conservatives, I want to see not 1 Reagan, but millions. He wasn't special because he had some magical powers, he was special because he stood up and fought tooth and nail for what he believed in. “Bold color differences” as he often said, set him apart from the pack. When we convey a hopeful message with a smile on our face and joy in our hearts, we cannot lose. That's the difference here though folks... the left is willing to die for what they believe and will not stop fighting till they win. I believe the country is yearning for a leader, but she needs a few patriot soldiers to carry the banner in the mean time. Will you stand and fight? Or be lost to the footnotes of your grandchildren's history books. If you fail to stand for your principles today, you will not recognize your country tomorrow. You decide but choose quickly because there isn't a moment to lose. America doesn't have time for your indecisive and overly sensitive ego.
